Nature + Humanity
I’m a fibre and mixed media artist reimagining scenes from nature with free motion embroidery and tying them into my abstract paintings. They are inspired by the energy and relentless momentum I see all around me.
My concept is Nature + Humanity.
Nature is perfectly balanced and beautiful. Even dying things spend 100% of their energy to bring about the next generation. Everything is connected and flowing. Though the subjects I work with do not speak or show emotion, I imagine their words, their songs, their prayers, and their beauty on my canvas with my threads.
Nature + Humanity is not only about my art, but also I want it to have an impact in our world. Today’s world has many Nature x Humanity (Nature versus Humanity). How many bugs we can kill, how many fish we can catch, how fast we can raise animals… Humanity is interrupting this connection and flow. I hope to contribute to the conservation of nature through my art, envisioning a world where Nature + Humanity exist in harmony.
To bring my Nature + Humanity concept to life, I would like to introduce nature conservation organizations always alongside my artworks to create a bridge between people and the vital work these groups do for nature.
If my art can inspire people to support nature conservation and restoration, that would mean a lot to me. To support their efforts further, 5% of my sales will be donated to these organizations.
